Raku ceramics symbolise the beauty of embracing imperfection.
Originating in 16th-century Japan, they became closely associated with the Japanese tea ceremony.
Each Raku bowl is hand-thrown and fired using a unique process in which the hot vessel is removed directly from the kiln. The sudden temperature shock creates distinctive crackles in the glaze, making every piece unique and celebrating the Japanese philosophy of finding beauty in imperfection.
